Key Responsibilities:
- Providing Safe and Efficient Transport: Ensure the safe and timely transportation of staff, patients, visitors, and clients across all Trust locations.
- Shift Work: Operate on a shift rota system, working across 7 days with varying start and finish times (6 am – 10:30 pm).
- Urgent Deliveries: Respond promptly to requests for transporting critical medical samples.
- Route Adaptability: Adjust delivery and collection routes as needed to meet deadlines and avoid disruptions to other services.
- Sterile Services Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Sterile Services Department to ensure timely delivery and collection of essential surgical instruments between Ashford and St. Peter’s sites.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks to maintain vehicle roadworthiness (oil, water, tires, etc.).
- Security and Safety: Safeguard the security of all passengers, goods, and equipment being transported.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload vehicles, including patients, cadavers, stock items, records, and other materials.
- Vehicle Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of assigned vehicles, including handling any onboard spills.
