Care Assistant Job Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Helping residents with mobility by providing support with walking, transferring, and positioning.
- Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration according to individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Engaging residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to residents, building trusting relationships based on empathy and respect.
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ condition or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, including keeping living areas tidy and assisting with light housekeeping tasks.
Care Assistant Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a care assistant role or similar position is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from nursing staff and supervisors.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to undergo training and development to enhance caregiving skills.
